Jan 28, 2014~ #28. [Divine Justice] By David Baldacci

by Eun 은령 2014. 2. 2.

The same Oliver Stone from the [Hell's Corner] and the Camel Club came back, although I feel this [Divine Justice] is the prequel to the Hell's Corner. This book has many twists and turns, but none is as twisted as Hell’s Corner. All is so necessary as hints and clues; and I totally enjoyed it.

(Jan 28, 2014) During the snow days in my town, I could finish the book within a day because the author knows how to capture the reader’s attention fully.  The author also did an excellent job of developing the protagonist's character in this one book independently so that this book is standalone. However, this is a sequel and a prequel.

Now the best formal unofficial-undercover- U.S. assassin, Oliver Stone(AKA John Carr), became the most wanted in the US by the very same U. S. government, due to the murders of the intelligence chief Gray and the formal Senator Simpson. The master spy, ex-army three-star-general Macklin Hayes is using his power, by hiring Agent Knox (from the CIA) to catch Oliver to cover up his corruption, when he cares about his own personal fame and success. How the Camel Club friends rescue Oliver and the town of Divine, VA, is so intertwined beautifully and well-plotted.

Divine, VA is the coal-mining town; I personally think that Baldacci made up the town name; where all the corruption and murders occurred, when Oliver arrived there accidentally, by helping and following Danny. Oliver and Knox together solve the town's most problems in the end. Just to note to myself: Danny, Willie, Debby; Young people from Divine. Abby, Danny's mom, is falling in love with Oliver (AKA Ben). The Dead Rock is the super-maximum security prison built on top of the sealed mine. Howard and Lincoln Tyree, like in Evil and good. The ending is auspicious too! Great job Baldacci!

I will read more books by him. A 5-Star from me!
